The Big Apple

On May 19th and 20th we enjoyed two action packed days in New York! We saw and did so much, and yet so much of the adventure is found in navigating the place itself and negotiating as a group to make it the best experience it can be for all involved. Here are a few offbeat highlights that were mentioned by the group as we debriefed the trip:

  • Matthew’s new nickname (“Fluorescent”)
  • Finding a family name on the wall at Ellis Island
  • Climbing serious rocks at the playground, and having the brush burns to prove it
  • Crossing paths with “interesting” people in Times Square
  • Crossing paths with a young YouTube star at Ellis Island
  • Waffles for breakfast at the hotel
  • Reasonable gift and food prices at the Statue of Liberty
  • Nice guy at the candy store
  • Never taking the same kind of ferry twice
  • How much there was to see at St. Patrick’s

And here are some photos. Enjoy!
